Aaron Turner Moore

Aaron Moore, son of Benjamin Moore (b. 1696, d. 1751-2), was born in 172? in Chester County, PA. He settled in Old Tryon County, modern-day Rutherford County, NC. Around 1763, he married Rachel Lawrence, who may have been the daugher of Elisha Lawrence of Abbeville District, SC. They had nine children:

  1. Elizabeth, married Michael Harmon.
  2. Moses, married Nancy Cox.
  3. Elisha, married Elizabeth Skrimshire.
  4. Sarah, married possibly Joel Vaughn.
  5. Mary, married William Battle.
  6. Margaret
  7. Rachel, married Reubin Logan.
  8. John, born November 19, 1777; first married Martha Covington (d. ca. 1815); son John Covington; married second Susannah Jones; died November 11, 1857.

Aaron was a captain in the Revolutionary War, probably in the North Carolina militia.

Aaron Turner Moore died in October of 1782.
