Benjamin Moore

Benajmin Moore was born in 1696 in Chester County, PA. His parents were Richard Moore and Mary Green, who were born in England. Richard, Mary, their children Mary and John, and Mary's parents Thomas and Margaret Green immigrated to Philadelphia from Bristol, England, in 1686 on the Delaware.

Benjamin's wife is unknown, but he had five children. Order of birth is uncertain:

• Elizabeth, born circa 1723 in Pennsylvania; married Samuel Biggerstaff in 1741; died circa 1788 in Rutherford County, NC.
• Moses, born 172?; married first Jane Gillighin; married second Hester Winston; married third Mrs. Margaret Rain; died 1791 in west Florida.
• John, born 172?; married Mary ___; no children; died 1760 in Echoee, NC.
• William
• Aaron, born 172? in Chester County, PA; married Rachel Lawrence; died in Rutherford County, NC, in October of 1782.

Benjamin died in 1751-2 in Hopewell, Cumberland County, PA. Reliable sources indicate he was killed.
