
Catherine Watson was born on October 04, 1826, in Jackson County, NC, to George Washington Watson (b. 10/02/1800) and Francis Gribble. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Watson and Catherine "Caty" Hughes. On January 18, 1846, she married John Moore (b. 01/04/1826 in present-day Macon Co., NC, d. 07/17/1900), son of Abner Senter Moore and Ann Cook. They were married by Esquire V. Clayborn in Cherokee County, NC. John and Catherine had ten children:
According to the census, Catherine, John, and the seven youngest children were living in the Fifth Civil District of Polk County, TN, in 1870. John farmed and Catherine kept house. John was also a Baptist minister. Records estimated the family's real estate value at $150, personal value at $225.
Catherine died July 21, 1899.
