Martha Talbot

Martha Talbot was the daughter of Matthew Talbot and Jane Clayton of Bedford County, VA. She was born in August 25, 1740. Her great-great-grandfather was Walter Talbot of Castle Talbot, Ireland. Martha married Barnabus Arthur, also of Bedford County, in 1755.

Barnabus and Martha had six children:

  1. William
  2. Matthew, born 1756; married Caty ____; son Lewis.
  3. Martha, Junior
  4. Jane, married John Routen.
  5. Talbot
  6. Lucy "Nancy", married James McElroy.

Barnabus died circa 1786. Martha and the five youngest children relinquished their share of his will to eldest son William, and may have moved to Wilkes County, GA.
