T.C. was born June 16, 1862, in Clay County, NC, to Abner Jarrett Moore and Miriam Moore.
T.C.'s paternal grandparents were Abner Senter Moore and Ann
Cook, who settled in the Shooting Creek area of Clay County. T.C.'s maternal
grandparents were John Covington Moore and Mary Bryson, the first white settlers in the area that is now
Clay County.
T.C. married California Caldwell
(b. 10/18/1866, d. 11/04/54) of Union County, GA, on February 16, 1881. Fifteen children
were born of their union:

T.C. farmed the Tusquitee Valley in Clay County. He also served as the county's road
commissioner and was elected Justice of the Peace for several terms before being appointed
to a life term by the Governor. His memberships included the Odd Fellows Order and the
Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
T.C. died at his home on September 21, 1938, and was buried in the Baptist-Presbyterian
Cemetery in Hayesville, NC.
